CMEA award

We are happy to let you know that the Essay titled “Wrestling with Postmodernism: Challenges to Kodály Practice in the Contemporary Moment” written by Jody Stark and submitted to the 2015 Canadian Music Educators’ Association "Dr. Franklin Churchley Graduate Essay Competition" has been awarded the FIRST prize!

This Essay was published in the latest IKS Bulletin (2015, Vol. 40, No. 1)

Dear Jody,

It is with great pleasure that I write to inform you that your essay “Wrestling with Postmodernism: Challenges to Kodály Practice in the Contemporary Moment” submitted to the 2015 CMEA/ACME Dr. Franklin Churchley Graduate Essay Competition has been awarded the FIRST prize! The prize comes with the opportunity to have your essay considered for publication in our journal, the Canadian Music Educator and a cash prize of $250. Congratulations on this significant accomplishment!

The jurors for the graduate competition were Dr. Adam Adler, Nipissing University, and Dr. Edwin Wasiak, University of Lethbridge. Both have outstanding credentials and offered a considerable amount of time to reading and critiquing the submissions.
