New Ferenc Liszt Chamber Choir

On Sunday, November 16th the New Ferenc Liszt Chamber Choir presents an original and challenging program titles “Love and Death”.

The program includes rarely performed masterpieces of composers Franz Lachner (German,1803 – 1890), Otto Nicolai (German,1810 – 1849), George Macfarren (English, 1813 - 1887) , Petr Eben (Czech, 1929 – 2007) as well as Lajos Huszár (Hungarian, 1948- ) and János Vajda (Hungarian, 1949 -). The composition "Hajt az idő" (Time propels) of the latter is a world première.

The New Franz Liszt Chamber Choir continues the traditions set by István Párkai professor’s Ferenc Liszt Chamber Choir. In 2010 Péter Erdei established the new choir from the final year and freshly graduated students of Liszt Academy.

The leadership of the ensemble was taken over this September by László Norbert Nemes, director of the Kodály Institute of the Liszt Academy and Vice President of the International Kodály Society.
