The present world landscape of music teaching
based on the Kodály concept

Being convinced that it would serve many around the globe, the IKS has taken the initiative of publishing and regularly updating on its web-site a Directory of Kodály-based research and teaching in the world.

We are targeting four different groups:

1.       Research Programs

2.       Institutions and organizations that offer Kodály-based instruction

3.       Schools where the Kodály concept is applied in the general education of the children.

4.       Kodály inspired seminars, workshops etc., that take place on a regular basis but do not qualify as a curriculum based program

In a first phase we are collecting the data of the programs that we know about hoping that we may appeal on you to fill in the enclosed Questionnaire. Nothing is urgent, but of course we would like to receive the information within a reasonable amount of time. If your present position or workload does not allow you to participate in this survey, could you please indicate someone that we may contact? For practical reasons all communication should be done through the e-mail.

In the Questionnaire below you will find 8 Headings:

                            I.            Research Programs

                            II.          University education

III.        Teacher’s training colleges and private organizations

                            IV.         High school programs

Would you be so kind to fill in the part(s) that apply(ies) to your institution or organization and mail it back to office [at] iks [dot] hu  This email address is being protected from spam bots, you need Javascript enabled to view it . If you have knowledge of other courses or classroom teaching based on the Kodály concept in your area, we would be most grateful if you could pass on our request to your colleagues and let us know their co-ordinates.
