It is our great pleasure to announce that the President of the International Kodály Society, Mr. Gilbert De Greeve, has received the "Pro Musica Hungarica" award from the Hungarian Ministry of Culture. This recognition was given on the occasion of the Hungarian national holiday, August 20th 2008.
Mrs. Erzsébet Szőnyi, in her laudation, emphasized Mr. De Greeve’s dedicated and untiring work in view of saving the high level of Hungarian music education. At the same time he has made an enermous contribution to the development and promulgation of Kodály’s philosophy broadly on the international level. Kodály’s humanitarian vision as a guideline for Mr. De Greeve’s life has made him a travelling ambassador of the Hungarian music education system all over the world.
Hungarian music teachers and choral conductors expressed their congratulations ad appreciation to Mr. Gilbert De Greeve.

In its May 2007 meeting the General Assembly of the Hungarian Kodály Society awarded Honorary Membership to the President of the IKS, Mr. Gilbert De Greeve, in recognition of his continued work to promote the vision of Zoltán Kodály worldwide.
