Celebrations in Chile

On 13th June start the celebrations of the 125 anniversary of the birth of Zoltán Kodály in Chile with the inaugural concert of a cycle of concerts to be organized until December in the town of Viña del Mar.
The concert will feature only Hungarian music and Kodály works.There will be an introductory lecture about Kodály’s life and work by Professor Carlos Miró Cortez, then the excellent choir of Boris Alvarado will perform. The event will be attended by the Ambassador of Hungary Dr. József Kosárka, the Rector of the University, several authorities and university students.

On 26th June an exhibition with 20 panels about of the life and work of Kodály will open at the Institute of Music of the Pontifical Catholic University of Valparaiso, accompanied by a lecture about Kodály the ethnomusicologist by Professor Carlos Miró Cortez, and a chamber music concert with Kodály pieces and songs. The Hungarian Ambassador will also be present.

Coro Femenino rinde homenaje a los maestros Húngaros

Madame Kodály, Márta Vandulek y Boris Alvarado en Budapest

Con un programa dedicado exclusivamente a la música de este país centroeuropeo se presentará el próximo Miércoles el Coro Femenino de Cámara PUCV, con el acompañamiento en piano de Michael Landau y la dirección general de Boris Alvarado.

El concierto, según los organizadores, es un homenaje al compositor y musicólogo Zoltán Kodály, uno de los padres de la etnomusicología, en el 125 aniversario de su nacimiento.

Miércoles 13 de junio, a las 19:30 horas, en el Club de Viña del Mar (Plaza Sucre s/n).
